Pre-School
Ivy Leaf has a strong early childhood program. Our nursery, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students are prepared for successful academic and social achievement during these important formative years. Iv Leaf helps to lay an excellent foundation in reading, math and socialization skills. The students also have computers, indoor and outdoor free play time and art activities. All pre-schoolers receive a mid-year and end of year progress report. Some of our four and five year old students are reading first grade books.
Lower School 1 st-3 rd Grade
The 1 st-8 th grade academic curriculum is very rigorous. First grade students concentrate on Reading/Language Arts, Math, Spelling and Handwriting. Students begin cursive writing in the first grade. Second and third grade students cover all of the above subjects plus Social Studies and Science. Computer lesson, music and art are also incorporated into our Lower School Program.
Fourth – Sixth Grade
Math, English, Reading, Spelling, Science, Social Studies, Computer Science, Music, Art and Physical Education/Health.
Seventh-Eighth Grade
Math (Geometry & Algebra), French, English Literature, Science, Social Studies, Computer Science, Music, Art, Physical Education/Health and Social Studies.
Middle School
Our 4 th-8 th grade students are prepared for future success in high school and beyond through a dynamic learning environment. In addition to academic preparation, they gain a wide range of experiences. Students participate in community service. They are given opportunities for self-expression through the arts at school-wide assemblies and programs outside of school, cultural celebrations and oratorical contest. Students are exposed to various career choices through speakers and participation in career development. 75% of our 8 th grade students attend the top academic high school including Central, Girls’ High and Engineering and Science.
